How Your Gift Helps

Pediatrics

Child-focused care at LRMC means everything from specialized pediatric medical equipment to prizes and stickers for being brave and even a Parent/Child Resource Library offering a variety of materials for parents and children. But behind the bright and colorful decor, the games in the library, the family lounge and kitchen is some of the most serious and sophisticated high-level pediatric care available anywhere.

From 1998-2000, The Foundation raised close to $1.5 million for Pediatric Services at LRMC to do the following:
  • Enlarge and relocate the Pediatric Unit to current 7th floor location
  • Expand and relocate the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit
  • Make the units more children and family friendly by creating a child-like environment of fun-filled landscapes depicting central Florida

We’re proud of the big commitment we’ve made to our littlest patients. After all, many of us are parents and grandparents ourselves. And we understand when it comes to our children—to all of our children— you can never care too much.

I’ve been to other Pediatric Units around the state and nothing even comes close to what we have here at LRMC, and we owe it all to the Foundation.
